Indian wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson completed his maiden international century in the third ODI against South Africa. Playing at Paarl's Boland Park, Samson got into the middle early after debutant Rajat Patidar got out at a score of 22 and held one end up on a difficult pitch. After a slow start, Samson picked up the scoring rate and reached his 50 in 66 balls.

Batting with Tilak Varma, Sanju Samson grew in confidence as the duo posted a 116-run stand with the Rajasthan Royals finding regular boundaries. After Varma's wicket, Samson further increased his scoring rate and reached his ton in 110 balls in the 44th over. Celebrating this ton, Samson flexed his biceps after reaching the three-figure mark.

Sanju Samson rescued India after an early collapse and got out a score of 108 in 114 balls which included six fours and three sixes at a strike rate of 94.74. Before this ton, the Kerala batter's highest score was also against South Africa in 2022 where scored 86 off 63 not out in a rain-curtailed game in Lucknow.
