Pakistan’s T20I captain Shaheen Shah Afridi recently met Manchester United owner Avram Glazer in Dubai. Afridi is currently leading the Desert Vipers in the ongoing UAE-based T20 league ILT20. The left-hand bowler had a brief interaction with the Premier League side’s owner, where they talked about cricket and football. Talking about the ongoing ILT20 league, the Afridi-led Vipers are currently sitting at the bottom of the standings, having won two out of six matches. 

The 23-year-old was appointed as the captain of Pakistan’s T20I team after Babar Azam stepped down from the role following their exit from the ODI World Cup 2023. During his side’s one of the clashes in the ILT20, Afridi got the opportunity to meet Glazer. 

Afridi meets Man United owner Avram Glazer

The Pakistan bowler interacted with the Man United owner, during which Glazer invited him to visit Old Trafford whenever he wanted. Not only this, but the American also handed Afridi a Manchester United jersey. During the conversation, Glazer told the cricketer, “If you ever want to come to Old Trafford, we would love to have you there, or American football game if you watch the American football game.”

Afridi posted the video of the brief interaction on his social media and thanked Glazer for his humble gesture. Afridi wrote, “Thank you Avram Glazer. It was great to meet you. Eagerly anticipating attending some Manchester United and Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL games with you and to host you in my beautiful Pakistan”.  In their last clash, Vipers locked horns with Dubai Capitals, where they lost the game by four wickets.
