The Blue Tigers captain, Sunil Chhetri recently announced the arrival of his first child, a baby boy named “Dhruv”.  Dhruv Chhetri , who was born on August 30 at 11:11; saw the skipper’s ISL club double this joy in a brilliant gesture.

Bengaluru FC in a video showed the academy kids present the Indian captain and new father Sunil Chhetri with a pair of boots engraved with ‘Dhruv 11:11’. Chhetri initially thought they were just a normal pair of boots as he began to tell the kids how much he loved that model but someone from behind the camera asked him whether he noticed the things engraved on them. That’s when he looked more closely and saw “Dhruv 11’ written on it.

An emotional Chhetri after receiving the boots, said, “I hope he gets me some luck. I hope I score some goals in these boots. Thank You!” The striker opened up about his newborn in an emotional post on Sunday, September 10. The captain shared how they weathered the storm and fulfilled their dream of becoming parents.

A Chhetri-less Indian team at the Kings Cup failed to get any silverware as they lost on penalties to Iraq after the game finished 2-2 and then lost the third-place game 1-0 against Lebanon. The 10th season of ISL will see 12 teams competing from September 21 and Bengaluru FC will face Kerala Blasters on the opening night.
