With the T20 World Cup 2024 set to be played in just less than a month’s time now, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already announced their main squad along with their travelling reserves. With fans waiting with bated breath for the Rohit Sharma-led side to take the field, the BCCI has now unveiled the brand-new jersey for the marquee event.
The Indian jersey which broke the internet, showcases the tri-colour stripes on the V-collar neck. It also has traditional stripes on the saffron sleeves from Adidas, who are the official kit sponsor of the Indian cricket team. Notably, the design of this Indian jersey is completely different from the current T20I jersey of the side. The current jersey sports round-collar with the shades of blue.
While Adidas has retained the iconic three-stripes running on the shoulders of the newly revamped Indian kit, it sports one star on the chest above the BCCI logo, symbolising to their only T20 World Cup triumph, which came in 2007 under the leadership of MS Dhoni.
