Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock, known for his prowess as a WWE wrestler has shared intensive footage of himself where he was seen training in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). The 52-year-old wrestler, who returned to professional wrestling recently in a tag-team match with Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, was taking bouts, and practicing MMA techniques in a video. 

The Rock, who owns a film production company Seven Bucks Productions, will feature in a biopic film on the former UFC heavyweight champion Mark Kerr under his production. The film titled “The Smashing Machine” is expected to hit the cinemas in 2025. Talking about the training camp, The Rock has termed it as intense and humbling. 

“I’m learning daily and it’s been a very humbling, intense, and motivating journey into this world of combat and becoming, Mark Kerr- the two-time UFC Heavyweight Tournament Champion, World Vale Tudo Champion,” he wrote the caption. He also added, “I’m a hard worker, but I realized that I’d have to work harder with this role than anything I’ve ever worked for in my life.”

The Rock undergoes MMA training for ‘The Smashing Machine’ role 

Mark Kerr, the two-time UFC heavyweight champion, had a HBO documentary after him titled, “The Smashing Machine.” The documentary showcased the personal and professional life of Kerr and his struggle against painkillers. The film also features “Oppenheimer” fame Emily Blunt, who will portray the role of Kerr’s new wife in the movie.
