The Delhi Capitals (DC) hosted the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi in the IPL 2024 . With a competitive total of 257 runs posted on the board by the Rishabh Pant-led side, the hosts successfully defended the total and won the fixture by 10 runs .
In MI’s 258-run target, Tilak Varma once again fired all cylinders and played a crucial 32-ball 63, along with Hardik Pandya’ 46-run knock. In the important match for the MI, Tilak Varma’s fifty came in the 16th over. The 21-year-old after his fifty off 25 balls was seen bringing a celebration by showing his thumbs up to the dressing room.

It is to be noted that it is not the first time Varma has performed this celebration. He first did it during India - West Indies series. On being asked about it during the West Indies series, the Indian batter said, “It was towards Sammy, Rohit bhai’s daughter. I am very close to Sammy. I had promised her that whenever I will score a century or a fifty, I will do a celebration for her.”
The five-time IPL champions, Mumbai Indians will next take on the Lucknow Super Giants, who are comfortably sitting in the top half of the points table at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday, April 30.
