The UAE’s International League T20 (ILT20) 2024 is well poised with Kieron Pollard’s MI Emirates comfortably sealing the top of the table finish so far in the tournament. In Match 12 of ILT20 2024, which was played between MI Emirates and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, the tournament witnessed one of the remarkable moments.

In the 18th over of the first inning, Knight Riders’ Laurie Evans took the field after Sam Hain’s dismissal. However, Evans’ stay was cut short in the middle, courtesy a blinder from New Zealand pacer Trent Boult. Bowling the third delivery of the 18 th over which was being bowled by Fazalhaq Farooqi, Evans lofted it off to left on long-off. Boult, who was close, dived full length to complete a one-handed stunner to dismiss Evan for a duck.

While the video of the catch has been doing rounds since then, the ILT20 also claimed it to be one of the greatest catches. Fans also hailed Boult’s effort while some even termed it “superman’s catch”.

Speaking of the match, MI Emirates won the toss and invited the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders to put the score first on the board. The Sunil Narine-led side posted 188/5 in 20 overs with Fazalhaq Farooqi bagging three wickets. However, this run-chase seemed to be an easy task for the MI-owned franchise as Kusal Perera reached his half-century, Muhammad Waseem played a scintillating unbeaten 87-run knock to help the side cross the line and register an eight-wicket win.
