In a high-voltage Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash between five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, there were moments which saw tempers flare. After Khaleel Ahmed, CSK’s INR 4.80 Crore buy was seen getting into a premature lbw celebration in the third over of RCB inning, after RCB’s commanding win of 50 runs, the star Indian batter Virat Kohli was seen having an animated chat on the sidelines of the match.
Although, there were jovial scenes at Chepauk as RCB registered their first win over CSK in 17 years at the Chepauk, Kohli was involved in a heated confrontation with the CSK bowler. However, the video of the same is going viral on social media, the matter of the conversation remains unclear.
Virat Kohli confronts to Khaleel Ahmed after latter’s premature lbw celebration
Earlier in the third over of RCB inning, Khaleel celebrated a premature lbw shout. Seeing the bowler in full confidence, CSK opted for a DRS and the replays showed the ball pitching outside leg, meaning the umpire’s on-field call stood firm. This gave a relief to the RCB opener, but the real drama unfolded after the match during the customary handshake.
As Kohli and Khaleel approached for a customary handshake, the former appeared visibily agitated but latter was ready extend a peace offering. While shaking his hand, Kohli shoved the pacer away, making his frustration evident with veteran batter MS Dhoni right behind the CSK bowler.

Although, the furious exchange was caught on camera, MS Dhoni kept quiet and watched the incident with his calm demeanour. Later, Kohli was also seen having a light-hearted chat with India and CSK all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja but there was sudden shift in his attitude when Khaleel approached. However, at the end of the day, the heated argument eventually cooled down with both players shaking hands, adding to the sportsmanship.
