At lunch on day 4 of the World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2023, Australia extended their lead to 374 runs in the second innings against India. In the midst of a pulsating contest during the morning session, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill, two of the best friends on and off the field, shared a hilarious moment at The Oval, which was caught on camera for the fans to see.
A Twitter user shared the funny video of the two top order batters for Team India, which sparked a plethora of unique and downright absurd reactions on the platform. In that short clip, Virat Kohli was seen walking towards Shubman Gill to take his position in the slip cordon. But just as he got close to him, Kohli pointed his hand towards the groin area of Gill, who suddenly reacted in a sheepish way before making a hand gesture, which might have been a Bollywood dance move.

Notably, in the first innings of the Indian cricket team in the WTC Final 2023, both Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill were dismissed cheaply for 14 and 13 runs respectively. But the likes of Ajinkya Rahane and Shardul Thakur stepped up with the bat in the middle to lower order, to help propel India’s total to 296, in response to 469 first innings score of Australia. With that, they cut their lead to 173 runs, which, at one point, could have been in the excess of 300 runs at the end of first innings.
In their second innings, Australia are currently 201/6 at lunch on day 4, with Alex Carey and Mitchell Starc still in the middle. Even while the lead for the Aussies is a mammoth 374 runs, they will be looking to take it past 400 at least. It would mean that India will have to pull off a record chase to win the WTC final.
