Virat Kohli, the former Indian captain, had a poor Test match with the bat against New Zealand at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune, which culminated in a defeat by 113 runs for the hosts. After his dismissal in the second innings on day three of the second Test match, an angry Virat Kohli was caught on camera, smashing his bat into the ice container while heading to the team’s dressing room, causing an insane meltdown on social media platform X.
During India’s pursuit of the 359-run target, Virat Kohli could only score 17 off 40 with two fours before getting trapped in front of the wicket by Mitchell Santner. He took the DRS after the umpire adjudicated him LBW against the left-arm spinner, and the technology showed that the ball brushed the leg stump, which meant that the umpire’s call stood, signalling the end of the right-handed batter’s innings.

India lost second Test and series against New Zealand in Pune
After the departure of Virat Kohli from the crease while showcasing his anger for everyone to see in Pune, the rest of the Indian batting lineup didn’t perform anywhere close to their current level except for a fifty from Yashasvi Jaiswal, but it wasn’t enough for the hosts to reach the finishing line. They were bundled out for 245 runs in 60.2 overs, losing back-to-back Test matches at home for the first-time in a long time.
Notably, this is the first Test series win for New Zealand against India in India in the 147-year history of the format, and it came after they had suffered massively versus Sri Lanka in Galle last month. Moreover, with the big victory in the Pune Test, New Zealand also inflicted the first Test series loss on India at home in 12 years.
