The 15th edition of the Asia Cup is slated to begin on 27 August with a match between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. But every cricket fan is waiting for 28 August when the two heavyweights in Asian cricket, India, and Pakistan will take on each other. The two teams, who are placed in Group A will open their campaign with a high-octane clash on Sunday.

The stakes are really high with two arch-rivals taking on each other. As India and Pakistan don’t play bilateral series anymore, the fans get to see the two teams locking horns either in ICC events or multi-nation events like the Asia Cup. The last time two teams played against each other was way back in October last year at the 2021 T20 World Cup.

Pakistan had outclassed India that day as they beat them by ten wickets. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan had put on a freak show. But a lot of things have changed since then. India have a new captain and coach pair in Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid, respectively. The Men in Blue are on a world-conquering streak and are in great form.

However, what has not changed is the excitement and thrill to see Babar Azam and Virat Kohli go head-to-head. Although Kohli is not in a good form and Babar Azam is in the form of his life, the fans are excited to see how the two players perform in the high-pressure game. But before the two take centerstage against each other, Babar and Kohli shared a wholesome moment in Dubai.

The two players exchanged a handshake while they were heading to the practice. In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Indian players are seen heading two the practice ground. Meanwhile, they are also seen interacting with the other teams’ players. After meeting Rashid Khan, Virat Kohli walked up to Babar Azam and shook hands with him and also gave him a pat on his shoulder.
