Yograj Singh, father of former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, once again hogged the limelight as he stirred controversy with his remarks for former India captains, MS Dhoni and Kapil Dev. Singh, who has been very outspoken and has always blamed former India captain and one of the greats of the game, MS Dhoni for bringing an end to Yuvraj Singh career, once again accused the 43-year.
Speaking in an interview with Zee Switch, Yograj claimed that MS Dhoni “destroyed” Yuvraj Singh’s career adding that he could have represented India for 4-5 years more. In the same interview, Yograj Singh didn’t hold back his comments against the 1983 World Cup winner and even revealed the strained relationships with him.
“The greatest captain of our time, Kapil Dev….. I told him, I’ll leave you in a position where the world would curse you. Today, Yuvraj Singh has 13 trophies, and you have only one, the World Cup. End of discussion,” Singh said in the interview. It is to be noted that Yograj Singh was dropped from the Indian team in 1981, ahead of the World Cup.

Furthermore, it is to be seen that Yograj Singh’s animosity towards the former India captain is not new as, in 2017, he revealed that upon Yuvraj Singh’s birth, he vowed to avenge the injustice he felt was done to him. In his recent remarks, Yograj pointed out that his revenge was completed in reference to the number of trophies both have in their cabinet.
Yograj Singh’s BOLD comments on Arjun Tendulkar; refers him to as "unshaped coal"
Singh after his outburst on Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni, also spoke of Arjun Tendulkar, son for former India batter and one of the greats of the game, Sachin Tendulkar. Arjun, who trained with Yograj, however, is still finding his feet in top flight cricket, but is seen in the IPL, playing for Mumbai Indians.
During the interview on Zee Switch, Yograj referred to Arjun Tendulkar as an unshaped piece of coal, who is working to become a diamond. "Have you seen a diamond in a coal mine? It is nothing but a coal that took years to nurture and shape. If the diamond lands in the right hand, it will eventually reach its destination. It will be priceless. But if the same diamond is with someone who doesn't understand its value, it will break into pieces," he said.
