The Paris Olympics 2024 officials have installed ‘anti-sex’ beds for athletes in the Olympic Village for the forthcoming tournament. These beds will prevent them from engaging in sexual activities during the marquee event. Notably, the 2024 season of the Olympics will be organised in Paris in the months of July and August. Ahead of the big event, the management decided to go all out and install special beds for the players to prevent them from cozying up.
According to the NY Post, the team paced ultra-light cardboard beds in rooms to prevent any type of amorous activity. The beds have been designed by Airweave and are made up of cardboard frames, which collapse under excess weight. It would ensure that more than one athlete cannot lie in the bed. Hence, the players wouldn’t be able to lie in case the bed breaks.
The mattresses and frames of the beds are entirely recyclable, and the unusual materials and the designs of the beds have led them to be named ‘anti-sex’ beds. The beds are single frames and reportedly not as sturdy as regular ones. These kinds of beds were used in the previous edition of the tournament, in Tokyo.
Notably, Paris is set to host the 2024 edition of the Olympic Games from July 26 to August 11. During the tournament, the city is expected to see a footfall of more than 10,000 athletes during the event.
