Both the Capitals and the Superstars are yet to win a game in the tournament as Gambhir's side are winless in their two matches while the latter have lost their only match so far.

  • Brisbane Heat vs Sydney Thunder: Jess Jonassen-led Brisbane Heat won the 52nd match of the WBBL 2023 against Heather Knight's Sydney Thunder at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday by 22 runs. The Heat defended a total of 160 runs despite none of their batters scoring 30 runs. Sri Lanka skipper Chamari Athapaththu (34-off-28) was the highest scorer for the Thunder and gave them a decent start, however, the Heat skipper's four-wicket haul restricted the Thunder to 138 runs at a loss of nine wickets.
  • Adelaide Strikers vs Perth Scorchers: Tahlia McGrath-led Adelaide Strikers defeated Sophie Devine's Perth Scorchers at the Adelaide Oval by five wickets with 31 balls remaining on Thursday. Batting first, the Scorchers registered 104 runs on the board with just two players, Nat Sciver-Brunt (32) and Sophie Devine (30) scoring in double digits as Darcie Brown picked up three wickets. The Strikers achieved the target in 15 overs with Madeline Penna's unbeaten 31-off-23 being the highest score for the defending champions.

LLC 2023 - Chadwick Walton's ton helps Tigers beat Kings by 89 runs

Harbhajan Singh's Manipal Tigers defeated Irfan Pathan-led Bhilwara Kings in the Legends League Cricket 2023 on Friday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun. Batting first, the Tigers placed a mammoth total of 211 runs at a loss of three wickets as  Chadwick Walton (104) smashed a century while Robin Uthappa (51) scored a half-century. The Kings failed to score big as they managed to score just 122 runs at a loss of eight wickets in 20 overs.

Cambodia walked off the field while batting against Indonesia

In the sixth T20I match of Cambodia’s tour of Indonesia, a series of incidents led to match abandonment. Cambodia were batting first and while they were halfway through the innings, they refused to play anymore. The match was abandoned and their rivals, Indonesia were declared winners. The reason for the refusal of play is yet to be confirmed. However, as per several reports, there was some hint of a controversy regarding the dismissal of Luqman Butt, which compelled the visitors to walk off the field.
