Afghanistan pulled off the biggest upset of the ICC Men's World Cup 2023 so far as they defeated defending champions England to win their first-ever match in the quadrennial showpiece. On the other hand, India's domestic T20 championship, the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will commence on Monday.

ODI World Cup 2023: Australia vs Sri Lanka

Both Australia and Sri Lanka have lost their opening two matches in the World Cup and will look to bounce back to winning ways. The 14th match of the tournament between these two sides will be played at the Ekana Sports Stadium in Lucknow on Monday at 02:00 p.m. IST.

Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

The Indian domestic T20 championship will commence on Monday as a total of 30 teams will be in action. 15 matches will take place in three different time slots at 11:00 a.m., 01:30 p.m., and 04:30 p.m. with the defending champions Tamil Nadu scheduled to face Karnataka at the  Maharana Pratap College Ground in Dehradun in the morning slot.

Afghanistan upset defending champions England by 69 runs in ODI World Cup 2023

The Sunday clash kicked off with the English skipper Jos Buttler winning the toss and opting to field first. Batting first, Afghanistan, under the captaincy of Hashmatullah Shahidi, posted a score of 284 runs as Rahmanullah Gurbaz (57-ball-80), and Ikram Alikhil (58) scored half-centuries. In the second innings, no England batter could spend a long time at the crease apart from Harry Brook as Afghanistan's spin duo of Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Rashid Khan picked up three wickets each to bundle out the Three Lions on 215 runs on 41 overs.
