Afghanistan pulled off another clinical performance as they defeated Pakistan by eight wickets to register their second win of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Despite a few big losses, Afghans have now defeated two previous World Cup winners Pakistan and England so far in this year's event. The opening pair of Rahmanullah Gurbaz (65) and Ibrahim Zadran (87) stitched up a partnership of 130 runs while Afghani captain Hashmatullah Shahidi paired with Rahmat Shah to finish off the game.

WBBL 2023-24: Melbourne Renegades vs Adelaide Strikers
Renegades and Strikers squared off at the Junction Oval in Melbourne on Monday and the defending champions faced a disappointing defeat as they were bowled to at 86 runs while chasing a target of 168 runs. Harmanpreet Kaur (43 off 33) and Kourtney Webb (49 off 34) helped the Renegades register a decent total on the board while the Indian skipper displayed her all-round capabilities and picked two wickets after bowling 11 balls.
Former India captain Bishan Singh Bedi passes away at 77
Former India captain and legendary spinner Bishan Singh Bedi passed away on Monday at the age of 77. The left-arm spinning great was part of 67 Tests for India between 1967 and 1979 and took home a tally of 266 wickets. He also took seven wickets in 10 One-Day Internationals. Bedi also played a key role in India’s first ODI win. The left-arm spinner had bowling figures of 12-8-6-1 restricted East Africa to 120 and helped India win the game in the 1975 World Cup.

Sri Lanka registered their first win at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup on Saturday, October to come to the eighth place in the points table. While they now miss their regular skipper Dasun Shanaka, who sustained a quad injury during the match against Pakistan, there has been another concern in the side. Notably, Matheesha Pathirana now remains doubtful for the rest of the tournament due to a shoulder injury.
