Anush Agarwalla obtained India’s first quota in equestrian for the Paris Olympics 2024, as confirmed by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI). Agarwalla won India’s first individual medal at the Asian Games 2023 with a bronze and secured the Paris Olympics quota based on his performance at the four FEI events. In the FEI events, Agarwalla, with his horse Sir Caramello Old scored 73.485% in Poland, which later rose to 74.4% in the Netherlands. Later in Germany, he scored 72.9% with 74.2% in Belgium.

The Indian men’s table tennis recorded the second consecutive loss at the World Table Tennis Team Championships 0-3 on Monday. The team consisting of Veteran Sharath Kamal, defending national champion Harmeet Desai, and G Sathiyan lost their respective singles in the third group stage against third-seeded Korea. Harmeet lost his match to world number 14 Jang Woojin 4-11, 10-12, 8-11. Sathiya then lost to 16th-ranked Lim Jonghoon 5-11, 7-11, 7-11. Sharath then went down to Lee San Su 9-11, 11-8, 6-11. 5-11. On the other hand, the Indian women’s team defeated Uzbekistan 3-0 and will lock horns with Spain in the final group tie.

The Indian men’s hockey team defeated Spain through a penalty shootout in their FIH Pro League clash. Both the teams were tied 2-2 during regulation time.
