Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has found another way to keep his connection intact with the English club. On Friday, July 12, Klopp agreed to continue as the honorary ambassador of the LFC Foundation.  Klopp talked about continuing his role as the honorary ambassador of the LFC Foundation and stated, “The LFC Foundation does an incredible job in the community, both in the Liverpool City Region and beyond. I am really proud to continue my work with them and be named the first-ever LFC Foundation honorary ambassador. I look forward to seeing what we can do with that now that I have more time on my hands.”

Joshua Zirkzee to undergo medical with Manchester United 'Today'

Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee is set to undergo his medical with Manchester United today on July 12. The 23-year-old forward is set to join the Premier League club after Italian club Bologna agreed a fee of over £35m (€42.5m) - above the £33.6m (€40m) release clause for the Dutchman. After agreeing to a transfer fee, multiple reports confirm that  Joshua Zirkzee is in Manchester and undergoing his medical and is expected to sign his contract until 2029 plus one more year as an option today and the deal will be announced.

Brazilian goalkeeper shot by police officer with rubber bullet after on-field scuffle

Shocking scenes unfolded during a second-division game in Brazil when a police officer shot a player with a rubber bullet after an on-field scuffle. The incident took place during a match between Gremio Anapolis and Centro Oeste when the latter registered a 2-1 win over their counterparts. According to the Brazilian newspaper Globo, a fight broke out between players and staff from both sides arguing with each other over reasons yet to be reported. In videos doing rounds, a police officer was spotted shooting a rubber bullet at Germio Annapolis goalkeeper Ramon Souza after the fight.

Mumbai City complete signing of Greek striker Nikolaos Karelis ahead of 2024-25 season

Mumbai City FC are delighted to announce the signing of Nikolaos Karelis on a one-year contract until the end of the 2024-25 season.  Karelis began his journey with Greek side Ergotelis at age 16, making his debut on the final day of the 2007–08 Greek Super League season and becoming the youngest player ever fielded for Ergotelis in a league match. Throughout his club career, spanning 361 games, Karelis has been known for his all-round game and contributing in the final third, with 103 goals and 29 assists.

Biniam Girmay wins Stage 12 of Tour de France 2024

Eritrean Biniam Girmay pipped Wout van Aert to win the 12th stage of the Tour de France on Thursday. Despite Girmay's win, Slovenian Tadej Pogacar retained the leader's yellow jersey. T he first Black African to register a win on the Tour when he clinched the third stage, sealing his third win at this year's race. Speaking about the result, Girmay said,  "We didn't want to take any risks today, But in the end, when everyone came together, I felt super good, and I said on the radio, 'give me support and I can deliver'. So I'm just super happy."

Barbora Krejcikova returned to a Grand Slam singles final three years to take on Italian Jasmine Paolini in the Wimbledon women's singles summit clash.  Krejcikova took down 2022 Wimbledon champion   Elena Rybakina    3-6 6-3 6-4. On the other hand, Paolini defeated  Croatian Donna Vekic 2-6 6-4 7-6(8) in a thrilling clash to qualify for her second consecutive Grand Slam final after reaching the French Open finale against Iga Swiatek.

F1 announces six sprint races for 2025 season

Formula One announced six sprint race weekends for the 2025 season with Belgium replacing Austria from the 2024 calendar.  Austria has held a sprint at Spielberg's Red Bull Ring over the last three years but will go back to the traditional Grand Prix format.  The other five sprint weekends will be inn Shanghai on March 21-23, Miami on May 2-4, Austin on October 17-19, Sao Paulo and Qatar on November 7-9 and 28-30 respectively.
