The second and the final El Clasico of the Indian Premier League will be played at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday as defending champions Chennai Super Kings take on five-time champion Mumbai Indians on May 12. While Mumbai Indians are already out of contention, Chennai Super Kings are on the brink of elimination.

In their previous clash, Chennai Super Kings beat Mumbai Indians by 3-wickets and will hope to repeat the same result to stay just about alive in the race to the Playoffs. The Men in Yellow need to win every game with a considerable margin to stay relevant in the tournament. On the other hand, the Blue and Gold Brigade may act as a party spoiler in the upcoming game by defeating the MS Dhoni-led side.

Rohit Sharma & Co. were stunned by Kolkata Knight Riders in their previous game, as the latter won the match by 52-runs. In response to 165, Mumbai batters got bundled out at 113 in 17.3 overs. Both the teams will miss the services of their crucial players, as Suryakumar Yadav was ruled of the whole tournament hours before the previous clash. At the same time, Ravindra Jadeja too will miss out on the Chennai camp due to injury concerns.

For Chennai, their openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway have emerged as two-star batters who are giving a solid start to their side. Conway has been in splendid form with three successive fifty-plus scores, while Gaikwad is the top run-getter for the team with 306 runs in 11 games. Middle-order batter Shivam Dube is next with 279 runs in 9 games.

Dhoni's blistering knocks towards the end have been a significant takeaway for the side. Mukesh Choudhary is the leading wicket-taker with 13 scalps. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians have many concerns in terms of batting, but Jasprit Bumrah was lethal in his previous game, and some similar performance will be expected from the pacer.
