The 2022 Commonwealth Games also known as XXII Commonwealth Games is all set to kick off with the opening ceremony on 28 July. The ceremony will be held at the Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham. The main action of the multi-sport event will begin on 29 July with more than 3000 athletes set to compete against 22 disciplines including cricket which is making its debut through the women's T20 format. A total of 71 countries are participating in the gala event with the hope to finish at the helm.
India, one of the most successful nations at the Games, have also sent a strong 214-member contingent to compete with the best athletes in the world. The likes of PV Sindhu, Mirabai Chanu, Lovlina Borgohain, Ravi Dahiya, and the Indian Women's Cricket team will be seen at the event when it kicks off on Friday. India will, however, rue the absence of Neeraj Chopra who has been ruled out of the tournament with an injury. Chopra, who was a top medal contender for India according to SportsTiger's medal contenders list, sustained a groin injury during his silver medal-winning performance at the World Championships.
Nonetheless, India will have to proceed without him and the first step was taken as the Indian Olympic Association named PV Sindhu as the flag-bearer for the opening ceremony. Sindhu, who was also India's flag-bearer at the 2018 Games, was chosen ahead of Mirabai Chanu and Lovlina Borgohain. Now, as Sindhu is all set to walk out with the Indian Tricolor at the opening ceremony which is only a few hours away, the main question is where can one watch it live?
