In this regard, Portugal and Al-Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo topped the sporting world with the most liked posts on social media with 27,924,329 likes. It was Ronaldo's post about arriving at his new club in the Saudi Pro League and thanking his new fans for the massive reception on January 4.
The post included a carousel of pictures of Ronaldo and his family from the unveiling ceremony at the Al-Awwal Park Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The post was captioned, " WOW!! What a reception @alnassr_fc fans! Now let’s get to work! انا عالمي."

The rise on social media following started with a collaborative post between Al Nassr and Ronaldo formally announcing the transfer on December 30. The post received 33.6 million likes becoming Ronaldo's third-most-liked Instagram post ever. Further, the post became the eighth-most-liked post ever shared on the social media site.
Similarly, Al Nassr's official Twitter went from 3.4 million followers to 3.8 million followers. The second most liked sporting post also was Cristiano Ronaldo's with close to 27,864,605 likes. The post was from a friendly game between Paris Saint Germain and Saudi All-Star XI which gave fans the latest Ronaldo vs Messi battle. The post was captioned: " So happy to be back on the pitch, and on the score sheet!! And nice to see some old friends!"
