Pakistan continues to give amazing fast-bowling talents to the world, and Ali Khan is one of the newest names on the list. Idolizing Shoaib Akhtar, Khan shot to fame for the first time, when he dismissed Kumar Sangakkara on his very first delivery of the match in the Caribbean Premier League. The 32-year-old nipped back just enough on his in-swinger to Sangakkara to take the edge and carry it to the keeper.
Ali Khan is now representing the Los Angeles Knight Riders in the Major League Cricket 2023 in the USA. In the very first match, he picked up two crucial wickets, although ended his spell on the expensive side. The LAKR pacer scalped Lahiru Milantha’s wicket on a full toss, as Milantha attempted to slog it, the ball hit the toe end of the bat and safely fell into Sunil Narine’s hands who was standing at mid-on. His second wicket of the night was Mitchell Santner, who attempted to play the lofted punch on the offside, but the ball did not have the pace and got caught by Martin Guptill at deep covers near the boundary.
Khan is now a regular face on USA’s side, featuring in 15 ODIs and 3 T20Is till now. He has picked 33 wickets at a miserly economy of 4.78 in ODIs and is yet to prove his mettle for the USA in T20Is.
