Manna Patel is one of India’s best swimmers and has represented the nation at multiple events in the last few years. She has an excellent record in 4x100m relays, winning four gold medals in the South Asian Games in 2016 and 2019. The Indian swimmer also boasts of some excellent back-stroke moves which has led her to win two gold medals in the South Asian Games in 2019.

But her newest feat is not at the international stage, but at the national level. She recently set a new record at the National Swimming Championships in Hyderabad. She finished her Women’s 100m backstroke event in just 1:03.48, thus setting a new record. She is now the record holder in the 50m, 100m as well as the 200m mark in backstroke. The National Swimming Championships got underway on Sunday, July 2 and will go on till July 5. These are crucial for the qualification for the all-important Paris Olympic Games in 2024.

At the 72nd Senior National Aquatic Championships in 2018, Manna won three gold medals. Manna took home six medals from the 10th Asian Age-group Championships-2019, which were held in Bangalore: 1 gold, 4 silver, and 1 bronze. The champion currently holds 31 national records and has won 32 international medals and 99 domestic medals.
