The last Grand Slam tournament of the year, the US Open 2023 witnessed Novak Djokovic lifting his record 24th Grand Slam title after defeating 2022 champion Carlos Alcaraz in the final. However, a woman called Megan Lucky, who went viral for chugging beers in the 2021 and 2022 editions, was snubbed by the camera crew at Flushing Meadows this year.
The 27-year-old US Open beer girl was shot to fame after her viral gesture at the popular tennis tournament in New York. In the 2021 and 2022 editions of the US Open, Megan drew attention as she appeared on the big screen, and chugged a glass of beer. She appeared on the big screen at the US Open for the first time during the third-round match between Roberto Bautista Agut and Felix Auger-Aliassime in 2021.

After being snubbed from this year's US Open, Megan took to her Instagram account and shared a video explaining why she didn't feature on the big screen at the US Open 2023. She said, "Whoever was in charge didn't want me on the jumbotron (big screen). I don't know their reasons, they didn't share them with me, but I still had a lot of fun (at the US Open) and I'm at peace with it. I know the universe has a plan for me and like I said last time, beer girl is a part of me."
She also hinted at taking her beer-chugging antics to another sport as she added, "Maybe I'll take her to another sport that wants her fun-loving energy soon, so look out for that. But as for now, this is not the end, it is only the beginning of a new era."
During the Monday night football game between the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills, Megan challenged a big man to a beer-chugging contest. The Beer Girl took to her Instagram handle and shared a video of herself drinking beer seemingly faster than the big man sitting right next to her. She captioned, "You guys really didn’t think I’d leave you hanging this year, did you? Ps. The beers are bigger here OK!?! Save it, I know."
