Manchester City registered their fourth straight loss of the season as Brighton defeated them by 2-1 in the Premier League 2024-25 fixture at Falmer Stadium in Brighton and Hove on Saturday, November 9. Manchester City are now at the second position in the points table in the Premier League, with five points behind the table-toppers Liverpool. After the loss, Man City skipper Kyle Walker shared a message for the fans on the club's rough patch in recent times.
Manchester City suffered their second straight defeat in the ongoing Premier League. Apart from that, they also lost a couple of matches in the EFL Cup and the UEFA Champions League respectively. This also happened for the first time in Pep Guardiola's managerial career. After the loss, Kyle Walker said that he wants to see the players come through and bring City’s dominance back.
It's football. It will pass: Kyle Walker shares message to Manchester City fans
In his statement, Kyle Walker said that Manchester City will look to bring up inexperienced players and show them the foundation of the club. "This is the time where us as players, us as senior members, have to pull the inexperienced ones or the ones that haven't been at the club for a while and show them the foundations of this club because we built that over the last eight years and this will get us through this patch," Walker said.
"It's football. It will pass, with the players that we've got, with the manager that we've got, with the club and the fans, it will pass! But we need to weather the storm and after the international break we all come back fully-fit and ready to go for a very important part of the season!" the Man City skipper further added.
We have to change it and get back to winning: Pep Guardiola
Manchester City’s fourth straight loss was also a shocker for the club’s manager Pep Guardiola as it happened for the first time in his managerial career. Guardiola decided to step up and bring Manchester City back to their winning run.
“We have to change it and get back to winning. We are in the position that we are in and hopefully when we get the players back I don’t have any doubts that we will be back. This is my challenge – our challenge – and I’d like to face it. I will not step back at all. More than ever I want to do it. So we will try again. We must clear our heads and the players come back fit – this is the target,” Pep Guardiola was quoted as saying by The Guardian.
