Gujarat Titans made waves in the IPL 2024 auction after signing Jharkhand wicket-keeper batter Robin Minz for a prize of INR 3.6 Crore. Minz was in demand as his name came up in the auction with Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians going all-out. After both five-time champions exhausted their purse, Gujarat Titans beat Delhi Capitals to buy the Jharkhand star.

As Gujarat Titans completed this signing, Robin Minz will become the first tribal cricket to be part of the Indian Premier League. Minz is originally from Gumla district in Jharkhand and was selected by Mumbai Indians for an international training camp in the United Kingdom in August 2023.
Robin Minz is known for his big-hitting ability as he has a s trike rate of 140 in club cricket. In the mock IPL auction, Minz was described as the left-handed Kieron Pollard in Jharkhand by former India international Robin Uthappa.
