In the recently concluded Ranji Trophy Plate Group match between Arunachal Pradesh and Hyderabad, 28-year-old opening batsman Tanmay Agarwal went onto create history by smashing 366 runs off 181 balls in Hyderabad's win by an innings & 187 runs.
Tanmay Agarwal has represented Hyderabad at various age group levels starting from under-14, under-16, under-19, under-22 and under-25 level and also plays for Hyderabad in domestic level competitions like Ranji Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy and SMAT. He has scored 3899 runs from 101 innings (56 matches) in First-Class cricket at an average of 42.38 which includes 12 centuries to his name including a triple hundred.
Tanmay Agarwal recently caught everyone's eyeball after he went onto create history by smashing the fastest triple hundred off just 147 balls in FC cricket where he went onto break the record held by Marco Marais (191 balls) in 2017. His innings comprised of 26 sixes, which is most for any batsman in a FC innings.
Tanmay Agarwal's 366 runs is also joint-fourth highest individual score in the Ranji Trophy and also joint-highest score for Hyderabad in FC cricket. Notably, Tanmay Agarwal became first batter from India to score 300-plus runs in a single day of match in FC cricket.
Tanmay Agarwal was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2017 for a base price of INR 10 Lakh but hasn't got an opportunity to play for them despite being part of their squad. Tanmay Agarwal has played 53 matches in List A cricket and 66 T20 games in total for Hyderabad only.
