The 18-year-old South African cricketer Tristan Luus is a right-arm fast medium bowler who caught everyone's attention in the semi-final against India as he reduced visitors to 32/4 by dismissing Musheer Khan, Arshin Kulkarni and Priyanshu Moliya inside the first 12 overs itself.

Tristan Luus has an experience of playing 8 Youth ODI matches in his career (five of them in U-19 World Cup) and apart from that, he has played two List A matches for SA Emerging side in CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge Division Two. He has registered  bowling figures of 3/31  on his debut List A game against South Western Districts and has also taken a four-wicket haul (4/60) in South Africa's U-19 tour of Bangladesh in 2023 in Khulna.

Tristan Luus in this U-19 WC has taken a total of 7 wickets for the side from 5 innings at a bowling average of 21.28, which includes 3/25 vs Zimbabwe and 3/37 vs India in the semi-final game. In total, he has 12 wickets in Youth ODIs from 8 innings at a bowling average of 19.91.

Tristan Luus fiery spell of 6-1-16-3 (after first 12 overs of game) couldn't help his side to win the game, unfortunately as skipper Uday Saharan and Sachin Dhas' 171-run partnership for fifth wicket sealed the match for India to enter their fifth consecutive final in U-19 World Cup.
