Indian Judoka Tulika Maan made the nation proud on Wednesday when she brought home the silver medal in the Women’s +78kg category at the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth Games. The 23-year-old fought against Sarah Adlington of Scotland in the gold medal match and lost by Ippon. Before that, Maan had defeated Sydnee Andrews of New Zealand and Tracy Durhone of Mauritius in the semifinal and quarterfinal of the event, respectively.

But it is not the first time Maan has won a medal for the country. The 23-year-old judoka has been representing the country for the past five years and is a four-time national champion. Maan, who took up the sport at the age of 8 just to pass time, is now the highest-ranked woman judoka. The 23-year-old boasts of a CV full of accolades and awards.
