After finishing the 2023-24 NBA regular season in the seventh spot following a win against the New Orleans Pelicans in the Play-in tournament, the Los Angeles Lakers suffered a defeat against the defending champions, Denver Nuggets, in Game 1 of their playoffs first round. After the win, the entire Ball Arena screamed, "Who's your daddy?" to mock the Lakers.
Lakers star duo of Anthony Davis (32 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 blocks) and LeBron James (27 points on 62% FG, 8 assists, 6 rebounds, 1 steal, and block) combined for 59 points as Darwin Ham's side lost against the Nuggets by 114-103 on Saturday night.
As the Nuggets managed an 11-point lead with just one minute remaining in the game, the home crowd mocked the visitors with a loud chant at the Ball Arena. The Nuggets fans screamed at the top of their lungs, "Who's your daddy?"

For the Nuggets, reigning NBA Finals MVP Nikola Jokic registered 32 points with over 65 percent shooting from the field, 12 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals. Apart from him, Jamal Murray scored 22 points and made 10 assists and six rebounds. Despite star players LeBron and AD scoring the most points at above 50% FG shooting, the Lakers lost the game as their guards were unable to deliver.
D'Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves combined for 26 points, 6 assists, and seven rebounds. Russell shot 30% from the field and made just one three-pointer from nine attempts, Reaves, on the other hand, was quiet most of the time during the game and scored just 13 points.
