Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni has garnered a massive fan base with some of the most dedicated supporters. A stance of the same ‘ Dhonimania ’ was witnessed throughout the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League with fans turning to stadiums in yellow in each and every CSK match.
The former India skipper is often known for his skills and techniques along with some moves which might have sounded bad at that particular time but later was brought in the good books. Among many such, one is the former India cricketer promoting himself ahead of Yuvraj Singh in the 2011 World Cup.
In a latest video, which is doing rounds on social media, the 41-year-old has now opened up on this move. He revealed that as it was Sri Lanka spinner Muttiah Muralitharan who was bowling at that time, which led to him promoting himself ahead of Yuvraj Singh in the batting lineup.
“I promoted myself because Muttiah Muralitharan was bowling at that time,” MS Dhoni quoted.
Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni led his team to lift their fifth trophy in the Indian Premier League 2023, as they defeated Gujarat Titans in the final game of the cash-rich league. The 41-year-old cricketer went through a knee surgery post completion of the tournament, and has now moved back to his hometown in Ranchi .
