The cricketing world has been buzzing with the discussions around the Champions Trophy 2025 . Uncertainty has been looming over the tournament considering the BCCI has denied sending players across the border to play. On the other hand, the Pakistan Cricket Board has also maintained a hard stance and ruled out the possibility of a ‘hybrid model’ where some matches including India’s fixtures will be played at a neutral ground. Not only this, but it has also written to the ICC seeking a written response on the reason behind BCCI’s denial in travelling to the neighbouring nation.
Several venues including Sri Lanka, Dubai, South Africa and more were being discussed as the neutral venues for the forthcoming tournament. However, over the last few hours, the internet has been flooded with the news of India emerging as the top contender to host the marquee ICC event if Pakistan continues to maintain its stance. A video report on Sports Tak has claimed that there have been discussions within the BCCI corridors that if Pakistan doesn’t agree to a hybrid model and pulls out of the tournament, then it can be hosted in India.

Will India host ICC Champions Trophy 2025? Know Truth Here
While there have been rumours doing rounds, there is no confirmation about the same. In fact, the reports of India hosting the tournament are entirely false as the ICC recently unveiled a new promotional video for the tournament and confirmed Pakistan as the host. The reports had stated that the PCB may resort to drastic measures, including withdrawing from the tournament and refusing to play against India in any international event.
South Africa was also initially considered a potential host for the event but it was later ruled out due to scheduling conflicts with the SA20 cricket league. Notably, the forthcoming event was set to be the first ICC tournament to be hosted by Pakistan in 29 years with the 1996 Cricket World Cup being the last major ICC event held in the country.
