What a match of football it was in the FIFA World Cup 2022. The tournament favourites before the start of the FIFA World Cup 2022 crashed out on Friday after losing to lower-ranked Croatia in the quarterfinals. With the match ending in 0-0 draw with full-time, it was taken into penalties after another stint of extra time.

Neymar Jr scored for the Selecao to equal legend Pele’s record of 77 goals for Brazil. However, the star player was seen in tears and distraught after Brazil’s exit from the FIFA World Cup 2022. With this penalty Neymar registered his eighth goal in the tournament despite missing two games from the group stage.

With fans mulling whether the 30-year-old will return to play for Brazil again, he ended their doubts, making a big statement in the post-match conference. “I am not closing any doors on the national team, but I am not also guaranteeing 100 percent that I will return,” he said.

While the 30-year-old is contemplating his international future, the decision on his future in the national side also remains in doubt.

If this happens to the last World Cup for the star player, he might have equalled Pele’s record but hasn’t got a World Cup trophy to his name. However, talking about the legend who is in the hospital battling for life has won three World Cups for Brazil.
