O wner of the Sunris ers Hyderabad, Kavya Maran made a heartfelt speech after her team lost in the IPL 2024 final against the Kolkata Knight Riders. SRH were one of the best teams throughout the season but suffered a massive eight-wicket loss against Kolkata, who outplayed the 2016 champs in every department.
After electing to bat first, Hyderabad was rattled with an opening burst by Mitchell Starc and Vaibhav Arora. SRH could never recover from this poor start and only scored 113 in 18.3 overs. Then with the ball, the Sunrisers were left in dire straits as KKR chased down the total in 10.3 overs. After the defeat, Kavya Maran made a rousing speech and congratulated her players for an incredible season.

Kavya Maran said, “You guys have really made us all so proud. I had to come here and tell you that. I mean, you’ve redefined the way we play T20 cricket and everyone is talking about us. The off day had to happen today but really, great job by all of you with the bat and the ball.”
“Even though we finished last place last year, I think all the fans came out in huge numbers this time because of the potential you guys had. Everyone’s talking about us. Even though KKR won, everyone will still be talking about the style of cricket we’ve played. We played the finals, it wasn’t just any other game. I mean, all the other teams were watching us today. So, thank you so much."
