Greek tennis player Maria Sakkari told  Aryna Sabalenka  that her boyfriend won’t be happy about her comments on Novak Djokovic. Sakkari, Sabalenka, Djokovic, and Stefanos Tsitsipas came together for the pre-Australian exhibition match. The Rod Laver Arena hosted the 10-time champion and other players for ‘A Night with Novak and Friends’ on January 11, Thursday (IST). During the match, World Number 2 made some comments about Djokovic’s bum, to which Sakkari said that her boyfriend wouldn’t be happy hearing it. 

In the match, all four players were mic’d up and while Sabalenka was preparing to face a serve from Sakkari, something happened that left everyone in splits. Djokovic told Sabalenka, “I’m going to show you a couple of signals of what I’m going to do here and you say yes or no okay.” Later, the Serb started to wiggle his fingers behind his back, to which Sabalenka replied, “I don’t understand them but we can try.” 

The Belarussian then asked the crowd, “Can people help me understand what he’s showing,” before Djokovic started shaking his back. Replying to the Serb’s antics, Sabalenka said, “Wow, what a beautiful view I have .” The crowd burst into laughter before th e Sakkari shouted, “I’m sure your boyfriend won’t be happy with that.” Sabalenka replied," I hope he’s not going to watch it."

Earlier during the men’s singles, Djokovic defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas. Ahead of the onset of the Australian Open 2024, the previous year’s finalists played one more game, which resulted positively for the 24-time Grand Slam winner. In another charity match, Alex de Minaur defeated Carlos Alcaraz before the first Grand Slam of the year starting on January 14, Sunday.
