After massive changes in the PCB management, from skippers to the Director of Cricket, the board has been handed another blow as PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf has become the latest member to step down.

Ashraf, who took over from Najam Sethi in July 2023, reigned from his position on Friday, 19th January. This decision reportedly comes after the Men in Green failed to perform at the two major tournaments, namely the 50-over Asia Cup as well as the ODI World Cup.
“I was working for the betterment of cricket but it is not possible for us to work in this way. Now it is up to Prime Minister (Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar), whoever he nominates (will take my place),” said Zaka Ashraf as quoted by Geo News.
Earlier this week, team coaches Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn and Andrew Puttick all handed resignations after being appointed at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore. Highlighting on the team’s performance, while the Shan Masood-led side failed register a consolation win in the Test series, being whitewashed 0-3 against the six-time world champion, under Shaheen Shah Afridi’s white-ball captaincy, the Pakistan team is yet to win a T20I match against New Zealand.
On Friday, the Men in Green registered their fourth straight loss against New Zealand at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch by seven wickets and trail the series 0-4. The fifth and final T20I of the series will be played at the same venue on January 21.
