Sweden's all-time top goal scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to make his big screen debut in the French comedy-action film, Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Kingdom. The 41-year-old Zlatan is approaching the end of his professional career as the Sweden forward has continued performing at the highest level in Serie A with club AC Milan.
Apart from Zlatan, the movie features Guillaume Canet as Asterix, Gilles Lellouche as Obelix, Vincent Cassel as Cesar, Marion Cotillard as Cleopatra and Jonathan Cohen as Finalthesis.
Ibrahimovic took to his official Twitter handle and revealed the poster of Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Kingdom that showed him as Antivirus. He wrote, "Let me proudly present ANTIVIRUS. Asterix & Obélix."
This is the fifth live-action film from the beloved children’s franchise, which is produced by Pathé Films and directed by Guillaume Canet, who is also the lead actor in the film . The film is scheduled to be released on February 1, 2023.

Before Zlatan Ibrahimovic, former football stars like Zinedine Zidane and Eric Cantona have made their big screen debuts. Zidane made an appearance in the 2008 movie Asterix at the Olympic Games alongside other sportspersons like Tony Parker and Michael Schumacher. On the other hand, Eric Cantona has switched from football to become a fully-fledged actor.
