It was a day of celebration in London during Wimbledon 2021 as World No. 1 Ashleigh Barty defeated 8th seeded Karolina Pliskova at Centre Court on Saturday. The Aussie tennis star won the match 6-3, 6-7 (4), 6-3 and lifted the coveted trophy in front of a packed stadium. Apart from all the fans, there was someone special in the stands as well who caught everyone’s attention. Hollywood star Tom Cruise was there at Centre Court to watch Barty and Pliskova fight for the coveted trophy. The 59-year-old was spotted enjoying the match alongside Hayley Atwell and Pom Klementieff.
Tom Cruise certainly enjoyed the final showdown
The ‘Mission Impossible’ superstar was certainly seen enjoying the thrilling contest that the two women tennis players produced on Saturday. Tom Cruise applauded every piece of action during the match and there was definitely a lot of focus on him, apart from the two players who were actually playing the finale.
While Cruise ensured that he stood and waved at his fans, the netizens flooded the internet with tweets around him attending the match. While some compared Pliskova’s attempt to beat the World No. 1 as ‘Mission Impossible’, the others were just in awe of the Hollywood superstar who certainly added cherry on top of the cake with his presence on Saturday.
