As newly-branded Punjab Kings (formerly known as Kings XI Punjab) stepped on the field to play their opening encounter of IPL 2021 season against Rajasthan, there was something very different about them, apart from the new name.
PBKS 2021 = RCB 2008
As Punjab donned a new red and gold jersey, the fans were quick to point out the resemblance of the same with the old jersey of Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2008. If you look at it closely, there is indeed a lot of similarities between the two jerseys.
Interestingly, the Punjab Kings side also have a few ex-RCB players in the form of KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal and Chris Gayle. Reflecting on the same, the fans hilariously trolled Punjab for even stealing the jersey after the players. On the other hand, the others just went into nostalgia remembering the first season where Rahul Dravid led RCB donned that jersey.

There were actually a lot of coincidences regarding the same as even Punjab Kings’ head coach Anil Kumble is a former RCB player. It will be really interesting to see when these two sides actually clash against each other on April 30 in Ahmedabad.
