India kicked off the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe with a 10-wicket victory in the first ODI on Thursday at the Harare Sports Club. Ahead of the match, Indian skipper KL Rahul gave respect to the Indian national anthem by his heartwarming gesture.
KL Rahul, who made a comeback into the Indian side after recovering from an injury, is named as Team India’s stand-in captain for the three-match ODI series in Zimbabwe.
Minutes before the national anthems of both the nations, KL Rahul realised that he was chewing a gum and removed it instantly to offer his respect to the national anthem of India. His gratifying gesture was hailed by the fans on social media.

Meanwhile, Team India displayed a tremendous bowling attack to restrict Zimbabwe on 189 all out in 40.3 overs as Axar Patel, Deepak Chahar, and Prasidh Krishna picked three wickets each. While chasing the target, Men in Blue openers Shikhar Dhawan (81) and Shubman Gill (82), both played unbeaten knocks to deliver a 10-wicket victory over Zimbabwe.
Team India and Zimbabwe will now face each other in the second ODI scheduled on August 20 at the Harare Sports Club in Harare.
