Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen celebrates his 41st birthday on Sunday. The cricketer took birth in South Africa but later moved to England to play cricket at the highest level. Despite making his first-class debut in 1997 in South Africa, the swashbuckling batsman decided to move to the English nation in 2000 after getting dropped due to the quota system in the former country.

Though it was tough for the player to take such a big decision, what followed the move saw Pietersen getting groomed as one of the best attacking batsmen international cricket ever saw. Pietersen appeared in 104 Tests, 136 ODIs, and 37 T20Is for England, scoring 8181, 4440 and 1176 runs, respectively. However, more than the numbers if was his entertaining way of batting that made everyone his fan.

Apart from bring an amazing cricketer, Pietersen is also renowned for his social media banters, and his adventures. Given that he celebrates his birthday on 27th June, Pietersen received plenty of wishes on social media and as per his impression in public, he didn't disappoint his fans and friends, thanking them for the wishes in a unique style.

The 41-year-old took to Instagram to upload a video of his doing a backflip into the swimming pool. "Good morning and thank you for all the birthday wishes!" Pietersen captioned the post.

Wishes pour in for the former England batsman

Former India all-rounder Suresh Raina and retired Zimbabwe bowler Pommie Mbangwa also extended birthday wishes to the England veteran. "Happy birthday legend," said Raina, while Mbangwa wrote," Happy Birthday dude. Have a great one." Meanwhile, England Cricket took to Twitter to share the video of Pietersen's switch hit on the ball of Muttiah Muralitharan.
