Chahal to be back in action in Asia Cup
Talking about the leg-spinner's cricket, Chahal is currently enjoying his break and will return to action in the 2022 Asia Cup. After missing out on the 2021 T20 World Cup squad, the 32-year-old made a befitting comeback and took wickets everywhere to earn his place back in the Indian team. Chahal first starred for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2022 where he emerged as the highest wicket-taker of the tournament.
He then played against South Africa in the five-match T20I series where the leg-spinner bagged six wickets in five outings. Chahal also traveled to Ireland for the two-match series wherein he took one wicket in one match. For his good performances, the leg-spinner was added to the white-ball squad against England and Chahal did not disappoint at all.
The 32-year-old picked 7 wickets in the three ODIs he played. He also scalped four wickets in two T20Is he featured in. With Chahal continuously traveling with the squad since IPL 2022, the selectors thought of resting him and he was not included in the squad for West Indies T20Is. However, the leg-spinner is all set to play a pivotal role for India at the 2022 Asia Cup and perhaps at the 2022 T20 World Cup.
