The IPL 2023 Final between four-time champions Chennai Super Kings and the defending champions, Gujarat Titans will take place on the reserve day, May 29 as the original schedule was forced to get postponed due to heavy rainfall in Ahmedabad. While the weather remains a key factor to play a spoilsport in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the latest that the match can start for a full 20-over inning is 9:35 pm IST.
After exceeding the given time, overs from both innings will start getting deducted as a minimum 5-over a side match can be played at 12:05 am on May 30, Tuesday. If it is also not possible, then a Super Over will decide whether CSK winning their fifth title to equalise Mumbai Indians for most IPL titles or GT becoming the third team to defend their IPL title. If the match can’t be played, GT will be crowned the IPL 2023 champions to win their second consecutive title in their second season.
