The second Test between England and Pakistan is underway at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan. England have set a target of 355 runs for the host team. Meanwhile, Pakistan were dealt a blow as Imam-Ul-Haq did not come to open the innings with Abdullah Shafique in the second innings as he was injured. Instead, Mohammed Rizwan came to bat alongside Shafique.
The wicketkeeper batter, who usually bats down the order, found it tough to bat against the swinging deliveries of James Anderson and Ollie Robinson. But Rizwan kept his nerves and batted for 43 deliveries, scoring 30 runs off them. However, one outswinger from James Anderson was too good for Rizwan as the batter got squared up and eventually bowled out.
In the 16th over of Pakistan’s second innings, Anderson dismissed Rizwan with an absolute peach of a delivery. On the fifth ball of the 16th over, Anderson bowled a seam-up delivery angling into Rizwan, who was outside his crease and forward to defend. But the ball straightened ever so little to miss the outside edge and clip the off-stump. The batter was left stunned.

Coming to how the game has shaped up so far, England batted first and got bowled out for 281. Debutant Abrar Ahmed bagged seven wickets for Pakistan while Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope scored half-centuries. Pakistan, in reply to England’s 281, could only manage 202. Captain Babar Azam (75) and Saud Shakeel (63) scored half-centuries to keep the deficit within 100 runs.
England came with the same intent in the second innings, scoring 275 runs and taking a lead of 354 runs. Ben Duckett (79) and Harry Brook (108) were the men for England. Abrar Ahmed, meanwhile, added another four wickets to his name.
