Delhi Capitals have launched their brand new jersey for the upcoming edition of Indian Premier League. The franchise, which enjoyed their most successful IPL season last year where they ended as runners-up, will have a slightly different-looking jersey in 2021. Shreyas Iyer-led side will don an extremely dynamic jersey, which was launched on Friday.
Nayi Dilli Ki Nayi Jersey
The Delhi Capitals jersey will be dominated by team's blue colour which represents thier stability and confidence. There is a slightly darker shade of blue, featuring certain lighter tones as well. This year, the jersey has more of red colour which symbolises energy, passion and aggression of the young Delhi side. There are also red tiger claws on the sides which gives it a bold look.
Reflecting on the new jersey, Delhi Capitals Director & Interim CEO Vinod Bisht said, “The new jersey looks trendy, which is in sync with our team – a vibrant, young side ready to take on a challenge, and the tiger claws make a strong statement.”
Special gesture by Delhi Capitals
The franchise launched the jersey in a really special way as they invited a few fans for the unveiling of the new jersey, much to their surprise. Notably, those few fans were the first ones to witness the 2021 jersey, even before the players.
Reflecting on the same, Chairman and co-owner Kiran Kumar Grandhi said, "Delhi’s fans have stood by the team through ups and downs, so it is imperative for us to make them feel special. To take the fan experience to a different level, we also organised a photoshoot for the select fans in the new jersey, just like we do for the players. We are glad to have given them a memorable experience."
He added that he just cannot wait for the league to kick off and wished his team all the very best. Delhi Capitals will begin their IPL 2021 campaign against Chennai Super Kings on April 10 in Mumbai.
