The highly anticipated IPL 2025 mega auction, which will decide the fate of 577 shortlisted players, is currently underway at the Abady Al Johar Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. With just 204 slots up for grabs, including 70 overseas ones, only a select few out of 367 Indian and 210 overseas players will be picked by the Indian Premier League (IPL) teams for the 2025 season. Recently, English batter Harry Brook was sold to Delhi Capitals for INR 6.25 Crore.

Coming into the auction in the third set of the IPL 2025 mega auction, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) began the bidding for the England batter and were soon joined by Punjab Kings (PBKS). With the bid crossing the INR 6 Crore mark, CSK refrained from going further for Brook, but in the meantime, Delhi Capitals (DC) joined the race and finally secured his services for INR 6.25 Crore.

Harry Brook is set to play his second IPL season after being a part of Sunrisers Hyderabad previously in 2023. However, he didn’t have a great outing in that edition as the right-hander could only score 190 runs in 11 matches despite scoring a hundred. Brook has recently shown great form in international cricket. The 25-year-old smashed his maiden Test triple hundred against Pakistan in October 2024.

Harry Brook IPL Career

Harry Brook made his IPL debut in 2023 after Sunrisers Hyderabad bought him for a whopping INR 13.25 Crore. However, the English batter couldn’t show justice to his price tag as he scored just 190 runs at an average of 21.11 and a strike rate of 123.37. Now, Brook will be looking to play a crucial role in DC middle-order in IPL 2025.
