Global footballing superstar Neymar Jr. has expressed a desire to play in the USA at least once before retiring from the sport. While speaking on the Fenômenos Podcast, the Brazilian talked about how a move to Brazil would be difficult, but moving to the United States could be on the cards.
He said, “I don’t know. I have some doubts about that. I don’t know if I’ll play in Brazil again. I’d love to play in the U.S., actually. I’d love to play there at least for a season.” The 30-year-old also talked about how the Major League Soccer tournament is shorter than the European season; hence he would get a longer “three months’ vacation.” Jokingly, he also added that the schedule would allow him to play “many more years.”

Neymar was also asked about his retirement plans, to which he responded by saying, “I joke with my friends that I will retire when I’m 32. But it’s just a joke. I don’t know. Honestly, I will play until I’m mentally tired. If my mental health is OK and my body as well. … Physically, I think I’ll still last a few years. But my mental health is the most important thing.”
Nicknamed Juninhno, Neymar made his professional debut for the Brazilan giant Santos FC at the age of 17. At the Alvinegro, he scored 107 goals from 177 games while winning five titles in his tenure. He also won the Pukas award for his incredible solo goal against Flamengo in 2011.
Then in 2013, he was transferred from Santos FC to one of the most prominent Spanish clubs in Barcelona for a massive fee of €86.2m (£71.4m).
