It has been a crazy day at the IPL 2022 mega auction where lot of unexpected events have taken place on Day 2. While Liam Livingstone became the most expensive overseas signing, Ajinkya Rahane’s services were secured by KKR at a base price of Rs 1 crore. Despite a limited budget of franchises, a lot was happening inside the auction room but there were some shockers.
Two World Cup-winning captains – Eoin Morgan (2019 ODI World Cup) and Aaron Finch (T20 World Cup 2021) – did not attract any bids, leaving everyone absolutely stunned. In addition, even someone like Jimmy Neesham went unsold.

It was once again proved on Sunday that in IPL, age and recent performances become a crucial factor, something which must have gone against both Finch and Morgan, who have been suffering a slight dip in their careers in the last few months.
