The IPL 2022 Mega Auction is almost here, and the fans can’t keep calm for the once in a three-year event. And since it’s a cricketing event, everyone wants to participate actively. Cricket is way more than a game in India and every follower of the sport is really passionate about it. And India’s own T20 League, the Indian Premier League has a massive fan following. People wait for an entire year to enjoy the tw0-month of non-stop cricketing action.

But before that kicks off this year, the mega auction will be taking place. It is scheduled for 12 and 13 February. The ten franchises are toiling hard to form a strategy that helps them form a strong squad for the next three years.

The fans of these franchises don’t want them to leave any loophole, so they are chipping in with suggestions. The same happened to the 2008 champions Rajasthan Royals. The fans of this franchise bombarded its Twitter inbox with suggestions ahead of the big event on 12 and 13.

While a fan suggested they rope in David Warner as he makes good reels, another user wants them to not waste money and buy Indian all-rounders. The franchise shared a screenshot of an ‘honest’ auction suggestion on its Twitter and it’s too funny to be missed.

Which players have RR retained?

While it’s unsure what the Rajasthan-based franchise will do at the mega auction, three players are confirmed for now. The Rajasthan management decided to retain only three players and buy the other 22 at the mega auction. Sanju Samson (14 Crores), Jos Buttler (10 Crores), and Yashaswi Jaiswal (4 Crores) are the three players who have been retained by RR. Now, they have a big challenge ahead of themselves i.e. to form a strong squad that can lead them to their second title.

Apart from winning the inaugural edition of the tournament, Rajasthan have not lived up to the expectations of their fans. They have qualified for the playoffs only thrice (2013, 2015, 2018) since 2008. In 2021, they finished at the 7th position with five wins from 14 games. Thus, they need to form a strong squad, for which they will have to work hard at the mega acution.
