It was a battle of the Royals at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday evening. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals were up against each other to prove who the real Royal is. As expected, it was an intense battle with its fair share of ebbs and flows. After winning the toss, RCB asked RR batters to take center stage. Du Plessis decision seemed right as the RCB bowlers kept it tight at most occasions. However, a brilliant innings from Jos Buttler and a cameo from Shimron Hetmyer propelled RR to 169.
RR bowling attack led by Yuzvendra Chahal kept RCB batters at bay until Dinesh Karthik arrived. RCB lost early wickets with Chahal taking two wickets while Navdeep Saini took one. Trent Boult also took two wickets and made it look hard for RCB. But once Dinesh Karthik was in the middle, it was all him. The veteran batter finished the game for RCB which looked out of grasp at one moment.
Karthik played a gem of an innings. He scored an unbeaten 44 off just 23 balls to take RCB home. Shahbaz Ahmed also supported Karthik really well as the all-rounder scored 45 off 26 balls.
